Think About Your Goals


He highlighted a very good analogy and quote……

  • Analogy: Buffett compares investing to baseball, except that investing is a game where the hitter can stand at the plate indefinitely waiting for the right pitch.

  • Quote: "The stock market is a no-called-strike game. You don't have to swing at everything," ~Warren Buffet

The part of the article that stood out to me the most was:

  • Buffett will only go after companies that fit his criteria for large, proven businesses he can understand and that have an enduring competitive advantage.

As Real Estate Professionals, we’re investors. We’re constantly investing our time even if we’re not constantly investing money. One key to being successful is to invest your time (and money) wisely.


Time is everything in the real estate business; it’s of the essence. If we’re not investing our time on the right type of clients, we’re not only doing a disservice to ourselves….but also to our families, our team, our friends, our community, and our country. Some may think that this statement sounds a bit extreme, but think about it:


  • Who will benefit from you not investing time into yourself?

  • Who will benefit from you not investing your time with highly motivated clients?

  • Who will benefit from you investing too much time on the phone with deadbeat leads?

  • Who will benefit from you not investing time into studying your craft?

  • Who will benefit from you not investing time into following up with your leads?

  • Who will benefit from you complaining about things not going the way you want them to?

NOBODY!


The point is that we’re all investors, it’s just that we’re not all successful investors. If you want to be a successful investor, you have to study success. You have to ask yourself what are the successful people in my field doing, how are they spending their time? And more importantly, you have to Ready, Able, and Willing to RESEARCH THE ANSWERS.


Team Woods is about having knowledge and understanding in what we do. We like to have fun and do new things, but we need to have an understanding of the business that we’re conducting for ourselves and on behalf of others. Our goal is to empower our team members grow their businesses and reach their goals.


PONDER THIS


How much time do we have left to invest? Do we know the answer? If we don’t, I believe that we should be using every minute wisely. This means….

  • When we’re working, work smart.

  • When we’re eating, eat right.

  • When we’re resting, stop thinking about work.

  • When we’re playing, play hard!

  • When we’re researching, dig deep.

  • When we’re sleeping, sleep peacefully.

None of this is going to be easy, especially not today with all of the distractions that we have, and this why we set goals. Goals are the things that we don’t currently have but are things that we plan to have one day. So be encouraged, enjoy life, use your time wisely, and as always….MAKE it a great day you goal getter you!!
