Who Are You Modeling Your Business After?

I think that this is a very important question to ask, especially for those in the real estate business. Although it’s important for your business to stand out and be different, it’s equally important for your business to consist of elements that have worked out well for others in the same industry.

The people that I admire and study the most in the real estate industry are….

• Bill Hart

• Gary Keller

• Mike Ferry

These are all coaches and trainers that are at the top of their game. Bill Hart is one of my absolute favorites; I’ve never heard anyone else interview other realtors as well as he does. He really knows how to bring the passion out of the person that he’s interviewing, and what I love about him the most is that he’s a great listener. My alltime favorite interview is the one that he did with Gary Keller.

I also love Bill Hart’s interviews because if you’re new to the real estate business and don’t know where to start, his interviews will definitely help you choose a direction, because he interviews Top Producers across the country. My 2nd favorite Bill Hart interview is the one with Sam Miller, a Realtor from Ohio.

I’m from Ohio and you really don’t hear much about Realtors from there, so I was very intrigued with this interview. Bill asked Sam Miller questions in such a way that his answers helped me easily learn and understand some of his most effective real estate practices.

The thing that prompted me to write on this topic is the fact that we’re offering a lot of opportunities to the team that I feel are not being taken advantage of. This is a trend that I’ve personally seen over the years, and today I think I discovered a new reason why this is. Most Realtors simply don’t have a role model.

I believe that most people tend to think of Warren Buffett, Gary Keller, or Robert Kiyosaki when it comes to Real Estate role models, but there are 1,000’s of other Top Producers out there who are more “like you and me” and are very successful in their businesses.
