Shawn Burton of Keller Williams Chervenic Realty

Last week I decided to check Zillow to find a Ready, Able, and Willing Real Estate Agent to assist me with a sales project located at 204 Broadway, Youngstown, Ohio.

As a Licensed Real Estate Agent myself (who has sold several houses in the past), I wasn’t going to settle for just any Real Estate Agent to work with. No way!

I was looking for someone good, and when I say good, I mean they have the following characteristics / traits….

  • Good response time

  • Knowledgeable about the industry

  • Has a lot of Real Estate Sales experience

  • Has a team or is part of a team

  • Good communicator / Good listener

  • Asks great questions

  • Poised and Relaxed (doesn't talk a mile a minute)

  • Critical Thinker

  • Optimistic

  • Resourceful

  • Willing to teach others (including young people)

  • Willing to collaborate on projects

  • Willing to generate leads together (marketing & referral business)

  • Understands the importance of leadership

Now, although I’m a very optimistic person, I wasn’t expecting to find someone with all of these traits, but that didn’t stop me from being hopeful that I would find such a Real Estate Agent.

I reached out to 3 Real Estate Agents, and I was able to speak to all 3.

Agent #1 - This agent was very pessimistic about working together; he also was asking the wrong questions. On top of all that, he sounded like he was too busy and wasn’t happy to be a Real Estate Agent.

Agent #2 - This agent was someone that I had a GREAT experience with about 10+ years ago, so I reached out  to her again. She called me back within reasonable time and we had a great conversation. The problem with her was that she never followed back up with me after she said that she would.

Agent #3 - Shawn Burton. After calling and texting Mr.  Burton Sunday morning, February 1st @10:36am, he texted back at 10:37am and said that he would call back once he was out of church (around 1:30pm).

Mr. Burton called me back at 1:40pm and we  had a great conversation! Then on Friday, February 6th @ 1:30pm. Long story short, we made the following video.

That’s what I’m talking about! Not even a full week later, and we’re making things happen! Mr. Burton sent me comps the following day, and I sent him production notes on Thursday (less than a day before the video shoot), and he still made it happen!

Shout out to Donna Thomas for allowing her daughter to be a part of the production; she's such a talented child, so I want to give her an opportunity to learn about the Real Estate Business, and to have fun creating content. And she did all of that!

If you are looking for an agent to help you with your deals, Mr. Burton is the man to call! And if you or any young people that you know would like to participate in future Real Estate Lessons and Video Walk-Throughs, we're always looking people eager to learn and have a good time.
